Gorilla Safari

There are only approximately 650 gorillas left in the world, so the chance of going on a gorilla safari and seeing them in their natural habitat is a unique and thrilling experience. Uganda is home to almost half of the remaining gorillas in the world, and the Bwindi National Park and the Mgahinga National Park offer people the opportunity to look at these incredible creatures.

Uganda is located in the east of Africa; landlocked by Kenya, Congo, Sudan, Rwanda, and Tanzania. The country is home to several large lakes and lies on the East African plateau. The Bwindi Impenetrable National Park lies in south-western Uganda, and is compromised of jungle forests which are only accessible by foot. Over 300 of the endangered gorillas live in this forest, and have made there homes in this remote jungle. With these beautiful animals under constant threat from poachers and loggers, the chance to still experience them in their own habitat is unique.

The national park is one of the richest ecosystems in Africa, so not only do the gorillas live there, but also hundreds of other mammal species, birds, reptiles and plants. The park is a sanctuary for chimpanzees, colobus monkeys and over 346 species of birds. The forests are humming with activity and are a site to behold in themselves.
